Here are the Civil Unrest Stats in West Hollywood from Saturday, May 30 to Sunday, June 7, 2020

Captain Edward C. Ramirez of the West Hollywood Sheriff’s department, released a report with statistics on the civil unrest that has taken place in the City of West Hollywood from Saturday, May 30, 2020 thru Sunday, June 7, 2020. The report covers 9 days of protests that have either begun in West Hollywood, or have marched through the city at major intersections on Santa Monica Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard. The stats include arrests made for burglaries, vandalisms, and curfew violations, to name few.

The civil unrest refers to the thousands of demonstrators who have taken to the streets of West Hollywood to demand justice for George Floyd, an African-American man who was killed by police during an arrest in Minneapolis on May 25, 2020. The protests also demand justice in the death of Breonna Taylor and others who have lost their lives to police violence.

Captain Ramirez reports that the city has not had any civil unrest occurrences after these dates.

More large-scale protests are planned for this weekend. One expected to draw large crowds is the All Black Lives Matter March on Sunday, June 14, at 11 a.m., starting at Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue and ending at the intersections of Santa Monica Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard in West Hollywood.
