Haely White is Now Accusing The Abbey of Victim Shaming and Bullying

“They messed with the wrong woman…” Comedy writer, creator and self-professed “truth seeker”, Haely White, the woman who made headlines for alleging she was drugged by a bartender at the Abbey Food & Bar earlier this month, gave the bar two middle fingers yesterday, and is now accusing The Abbey of victim shaming and bullying after being served with a lawsuit. “This is victim shaming 101 and mega dollars at work,” she said via her Instagram account. “I tried to do what’s right to resolve the situation, and they’re being utter and complete bullies.”

White is being sued to the tune of 5 million dollars for not adhering to an agreement she made where she would walk back her damaging accusations via a scripted statement on her Instagram page after reviewing video footage that she originally said exonerates the Abbey of wrongdoing.

After apologizing to The Abbey staff, Haely again went to her Instagram account to add details suggesting she believed she may have been drugged after all even if there is a lack in video evidence.

“I have heard from hundreds of people who felt they may have been drugged, but were baffled by seeing video footage where you don’t see anything unusual placed in their drink,” she posted on August 15th. “It was overwhelming to hear from so many people thinking they were drugged on some occasion, and the frustration of lacking concrete answers. What is clear more than anything, regardless of my posts, this is a societal issue that must be addressed.”

“Since earlier publicly posted details lacked key information, it’s important you hear the entirety of what happened,” she added. “The video footage that I have reviewed does not show the bartender placing anything in my drink. There is an important additional detail – the footage also shows me collapsing off the seat at a booth not long after having my drink. It shows me being assisted out of the bar by a friend and amazing women I didn’t know.”

The Abbey responded on August 17th with a lawsuit filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Portions of the lawsuit leaked by Radar Online, states the Abbey is suing White for the “intentionally false and dangerously reckless” allegations she made in posts that have gone viral. “There is video footage accounting for nearly every minute of her stay at The Abbey on the evening on July 29, 2021, except for the 11 minutes in which she and her female companion were in the restroom together.”

The Abbey also alleges it has suffered a loss in business due to her false statements and that White’s accusations have resulted in a “flood of attacks on the reputation of The Abbey” and “threats of physical harm to its staff.”

Radar further reports that the lawsuit points out The Abbey and White agreed to the terms of a settlement agreement, in which she would take down all of her original allegations and share with her followers a “Corrective Statement” by August 14 at 4 PM PST.

The bar claims White “breached the terms almost immediately.”

White denies she broke the agreement and responded to the lawsuit by accusing the Abbey of victim shaming and bullying her in an effort to silencing her. She posted a video where she makes hand gestures that can best be described as pantomime sign language. She ends the video with two middle finger hand gestures that she rubs on her breasts.

“So, did The Abbey sue me?,” reads the post. “Why yes, they did! This is victim shaming 101 and mega dollars at work. I tried to do what’s right to resolve the situation, and they’re being utter and complete bullies.

They are ruthlessly attacking me for no reason. Not a good look, is it?

I had a horrible experience that night. I have tried my best to speak the truth. So much so, that I entered into a settlement agreement with the Abbey and issued a corrective statement they signed off on to clarify some of the details. Some have suggested they paid me to make the statement. That’s not true. No one has to pay me to do the right thing. I stand by that agreed statement, with my head held high, and my followup post was 100% consistent with it.

It’s clear they don’t want me to say a word, and are trying to limit my free speech. They even tried to get me to agree to silence myself, but I said no. When they couldn’t get me to agree to what they wanted they sued me anyway even though I did what I agreed to do. But this is very much in line with how bullies act, and quite frankly, they messed with the wrong woman.

They set me up and had their finger on the trigger to sue regardless of what I said later. It’s a bad faith move on their part, and an abuse of the court when space is limited due to Covid. If ANYONE has breached our agreement, it’s them.

Why is it that I first found out about this lawsuit from the press? Why are they publicizing a baseless lawsuit after days of back and forth with my team? What kind of business sues a customer who went through what I went through? Are there other lawsuits against the Abbey? If so, how many and for what? Have they gotten other customers to agree to silence themselves? At this point, they’ve chosen to make me a scapegoat, reduced my ability to talk, and acted in bad faith.

If it isn’t abundantly clear: this is the WORST kind of victim shaming there is. Abbey: is this how you treat your customers? Shame on you.”

The post went up yesterday. The Abbey has not responded publicly to her most recent accusations.

This woman is a liar and a narcissist. I think she hasn’t realized that she messed with the wrong gay bar when making false accusations. The Abbey has Vegas style camera coverage of their establishment. She will be crushed by the Abbey’s legal team with the evidence they have on video, her own statements, and by her violating the agreement she made with the Abbey to post a public apology and shut up. I hope they win the full 5 million they are asking for.

She agreed to something and she didn’t comply with the terms. Her bad. Now did the Abbey lose business because of what she put out there…I don’t think anyone is buying that.
