Goodbye Heart WeHo – New Beaches Tropicana is Hosting First Dance Soft Opening

Beaches Tropicana is having a soft opening tonight with a First Dance party at 8911 Santa Monica Boulevard in the now former home to Heart WeHo.

“Something new is coming Beches,” reads a Beaches Tropicana Instagram Post. “Get ready for Beaches Tropicana First Wave with New Programming and New Lewks plus all the current promotions you love! join us tonight for The First Dance!”

According to a source, the deal is sealed, and the new owners were officially handed keys yesterday. Change will be gradual, with real noticeable improvements coming around August.

New owner Jacob Shaw and his crew were seen cleaning, rearranging furniture, painting and decorating for their soft opening. The theme will be a hurricane theme to play on the chaos of opening the club under short notice.

The Beaches WeHo team has formally announced that a whole new concept called Beaches Tropicana is coming to the former Heart WeHo space in the heart of West Hollywood’s Rainbow District. Renovations are set to kick off after Pride Month celebrations, with the highly anticipated grand reopening slated for Labor Day 2024.

“HEY BEACHES FAM!” reads a post on Beaches WeHo’s social media platforms. “We have some exciting news to share with you all. We’ve officially purchased the venue that is currently Heart WeHo, and Heart’s original partners Lance Bass and Paul Nichols will be joining the Beaches team. Together, we are all excited to transform the space into something truly special. INTRODUCING **BEACHES TROPICANA!”

According to the post, Beaches Tropicana will be their flagship headquarters, combining a full-service Cuban American restaurant with an entertainment venue where guests can dine, dance, and enjoy top-notch performances, all in one space.

Beaches WeHo at 8928 Santa Monica Boulevard will also be getting a makeover and will be turned into Beaches Baja with a new Tex-Mex menu. According to a press release, the team is in talks with several high-profile chefs and hopes to make an exciting announcement once these plans are finalized.

Beaches Tropicana is also hosting a 4th of July IndepenDance party. Find details in the link below:

I have never seen a club exterior in West Hollywood be solidly black as the old Heart.I hope the exterior will be redone and made more inviting. The current outside look is dark and very unfriendly looking.Perhaps a style such as that found at Hi-Tops could help.

I wonder if some of the venue’s troubles are that the club has black walls. Might some people find them “uninviting”?
