With Daisy Girls Scout Siena Levin of Glendale getting so much attention for selling her Girl Scouts cookies in the LGBT Rainbow District earlier last month, we would be remiss if we failed to mention troop West Hollywood, a group of eight Junior Girl Scouts who are also on a mission to sell as many cookies as they can, as they reach their selling deadline next week.
We caught up with some of the girls while they were selling cookies outside of Bristol Farms in WeHo last week.

“This is troop West Hollywood,” said mom and Cookie Chair Megan Larson. “Most of them have been Girl Scouts together—starting out as Daisies and then Brownies–since kindergarten. They are a great group from a great school. They are between nine and ten years-old and they actually love coming out here and selling to the public.”
Larson says this is the first year that they have really sold cookies at a public setting. They started selling cookies right before the pandemic, but most of their cookie sales have been online for the past two years. “This is the first year where it’s actually normal and they are out in the public,” she said. “This is what it’s all about, which is understanding business, giving people change, talking to customers, and learning how to be little entrepreneurs.”

She added that Troop West Hollywood is selling cookies to raise money to go on a Catalina Island camping trip. “What’s so great about the Girl Scouts is that they raise money for charity and wildlife causes,” she said. “They pack lunches for the unhoused, they make blankets for dogs in shelters and they learn how to carve soap and that’s why they do this. They raise money to help the community and they get to experience a trip like going camping to Catalina Island.”
The group of Junior Girl Scouts from Troop West Hollywood become full fledged Girl Scouts next hear. They could be the last troop in West Hollywood Elementary after they graduate next year unless mothers step up and create a troop of Daisies or Brownies in the next coming year at the school.

Troop WeHo is selling cookies outside the Shade Store in Larchmont Village at 216 N Larchmont Blvd at 4 p.m today, Tuesday, March 7. They will hopefully be at a booth outside of West Hollywood Elementary School, at 970 Hammond Street, this upcoming weekend if it doesn’t rain on them. Help these girls reach their goals and help these moms clear out their cookie inventory.
Unfortunately we can’t give you a link to their page because it is against Girl Scouts rules to publish selling links in news outlets to keep things fair with the other troops, but you can ask a family or friend, or visit them at their selling locations.
GO TROOP WEHO, GO!!!
Thanks, Paul! It’s great to know that the WEHO Girl Scouts are in our community selling cookies. I definitely want to support our local troop. These girls are doing a fantastic job!
