Giant 100-Foot Holiday Tree is Coming to The Grove on Thursday

With Halloween behind us, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Early Thursday morning, November 2, The Grove’s renowned 100-foot white fir Christmas tree will arrive on property, signaling the start of the holiday season in Los Angeles.

Award-winning retail, dining and entertainment destination The Grove, located at 189 The Grove Drive, welcomes its acclaimed Christmas tree, which will arrive on a flatbed truck and travel the length of First Street to The Park, where it will be stationed for the duration of the holiday season. The Grove. The tree will be delivered on at 5pm and lifted in place from 7am – 8am.

Hand-picked from Northern California’s Mt. Shasta region and chosen once it’s nearing 80 years or older, marking the end of its woodland life cycle, the tree will travel from The Original Farmers Market down the length of First Street on a flatbed truck, before being hoisted into position at The Park by a gigantic crane.

A more than 20-year tradition of the historic shopping, dining and lifestyle destination, The Grove’s Christmas tree is adorned with 15,000 sparkling lights and 10,000 decorative ornaments, illuminating Southern California’s night sky and transforming the property into a winter wonderland.

The tree’s arrival kicks off The Grove’s festive holiday programming, including the annual star-studded Tree Lighting Ceremony mid-November, photo moments with Santa at his workshop starting November 20, nightly snowfalls beginning November 25 and much more. The Americana at Brand’s Christmas tree will arrive on November 7 and The Promenade at Westlake will light up the sky with its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 17.

Once The Grove’s holiday celebrations come to a close, the Christmas tree’s branches are recycled for use as mulch and firewood, in addition to 10 new white fir trees planted in its place in Mt. Shasta.
