West Hollywood has always been known for its trendy boutiques, restaurants, luxurious hotels and nightlife, but it is quickly becoming a hub for fitness enthusiasts as well. With a plethora of gyms to choose from and several new gyms opening in 2023, such as John Reed fitness coming soon to the former 24-Hour Fitness space, and OPVS Fitness expanding to the former Eat Well Diner Space—not failing to mention the Golds Gym slated to open at the neighboring Beverly Center, it may become tough to decide where to work out in and around WeHo City.
Rathe dumb name for a gym. Also, the title of this article has mis-spelled the name of the gym.
Thanks for catching that Mike. The name is a little confusing.
It’s a dumb name. I would make the same mistake. Is it named after the Full House show from the 80s? We don’t know.
HA! Where are you supposed to park? Side streets or do they require you to walk, bike or scooter only?
What are you talking about? There is literally a giant parking structure right across the street at the old Aaron Brothers building not to mention the automated parking lot two blocks away at City Hall.
What are YOU talking about???. The Aaron Bros is becoming Barry’s Bootcamp and is also parking for the restaurant and WEHO city hall staff, not to mention adjacent residential neighbors are able to arrange for parking. The city parking structure is a nightmare and is mostly staff. NOT at all convenient and a dumb location for the gym. I’m assuming they got a good deal since the space has been vacant for so long.
What are YOUUUUU talking about? When was the last time you heard that Barry’s was moving to that location? It’s been well over two years and they have yet to break ground. The City Hall automated parking structure is for everyone, not just staff. Parking is a nightmare in W Hollywood true, but this gym is another one of those specialized gyms that cater to a select clientele, so they’re not worried about getting the masses in there, especially when you call $95 a month a special deal.
I can only go by the Barry’s sign in the window but it seems that construction does take a long time to get off the ground these days due to staff, cost, materials. I’m sure the city gave them an incredible undervalue lease. Although “breaking ground” usually refers to new construction, technically they will prob have to break ground for electrical or whatnot Seems gyms and pot places are taking over the hood all of a sudden
