The Emerging Leaders Council of My Friend’s Place is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a special evening of Legendary Bingo (aka Drag Queen Bingo) to benefit the homeless youth services at My Friend’s Place. It’s all going down at Hamburger Marys WEHO, 8288 Santa Monica Blvd, on Wednesday February 21, from 7pm-10pm.
For 30 years and counting, My Friend’s Place has been assisting and inspiring homeless youth to build self-sufficient lives. From their early beginnings as a volunteer-based group serving meals from the trunks of cars, to the dynamic resource center they operate today, My Friend’s Place offers a comprehensive services to nearly 1,400 homeless youth between the ages of 12 and 25, and their children–each year, helping young people move toward wellness, stability and self-sufficiency.
Legendary Bingo dates back to April 1998. The charity event served up its first set of balls at Stonewall Gourmet Coffee in West Hollywood as a fundraising event for AIDS Project Los Angeles. A few months later, the evening began to benefit a different charity each week and the event became a “standing room only” sensation.
Hosted by Bingo Boy and his rotating roster of fabulous “Drag Queen Bingo Hostesses,” each event and party is a mix of friends, fun, ridiculousness and, more often than not, a good cause with millions of dollars for local and national charities and the arts.
A $20 suggested donation gets you 10 games of bingo hosted by the sassy and fabulous Legendary Bingo crew, the chance to win amazing prizes and bid on exclusive auction items. And it’s all for a great cause!
If you are coming with a large group, it’s recommended to reserve a table by calling 323-654-3800
