Fox 11 and other local news outlets report that a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle was involved in a crash last night. Two sheriff deputies and two civilians were hospitalized, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The crash happened at the intersection of  Sunset and La Cienega Boulevards at rough 11 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.

The patrol car hit a civilian vehicle and crashed into Madeo Restaurant. Both vehicles were severely damaged, but the building does not appear to have structural damage considering the size of the SUV Sheriff vehicle. The civilian vehicle was stopped in the middle of the intersection. Skid marks suggest it was going north on La Cienega, but that is not yet clear.

Sunset Boulevard was closed to moving traffic in both directions, and the scene was cordoned off with crime scene tape as the crash was investigated.

This story will be updated as more details are available.
