    What’s Happening Los Angeles: October Food and Event News

    Dine L.A. is Back

    Dine L.A. is back and diners can enjoy special menus at more than 300 LA eateries from October 1 through Oct. 15.  Diners can choose from a selection of specially priced menus for lunch ($15, $20, and $30) and dinner ($25 and up), reservations at www.dineLA.com.

    Haunt’Oween LA is here!

    Now through October 31st, this family-friendly Halloween experience will take place from 5-11pm at The Promenade at Westfield Topanga, located at 6100 Topanga Canyon Blvd in Woodland Hills. Tickets are $30 and children under 2 are free. Tickets at www.socalhauntoween.com.

    Beverly Center Hosts Pop-Up Food Series

    The Beverly Center will host Bites at Beverly, a pop up food series on October 3 and October 17, from 1 to 4pm. The pop-up events will feature culinary brands to sample and purchase, live music and food inspired crafts and games.

    Universal Studios Dishes Out Frightening Feasts for Halloween Horror Nights

    Universal Studios is offering a variety of scary delicious dishes for their Halloween Horror Nights including Texas Chili and Cheese Nachos, a monster hot dog, bloody funnel fingers with strawberry sauce, horchata churro bites and a variety of specialty cocktails. Halloween Horror Nights run Oct. 1-3, 7-10, 14-17, 21,24 and 28-31, tickets at https://hollywood.halloweenhorrornights.com/.

    Melrose Rooftop Theatre Offers Halloween Themed Movies

    Starting October 1, Melrose Rooftop Theatre will show seasonal scary screenings including ET (Oct. 1), Hocus Pocus (Oct. 4), Scream (Oct. 11), Poltergeist (Oct. 22) and It (Oct. 30). There is a dinner and movie menu and specialty cocktails. VIP seating is $28 and dinner and VIP package is $49.  Screenings begin at sundown, visit https://melroserooftoptheatre.com/.

    Horses Opens on Sunset

    Horses, a new restaurant and bar, is opening October 6 on Sunset Blvd. The classic bistro will focus on California cuisine, a few main dishes and many small bites and classic cocktails.

    LOAM Opens at Ace Hotel

    Downtown’s Ace Hotel will open LOAM, a new restaurant concept, on October 6. The menu will focus on seasonal local produce and bar options include lots of non-alcoholic libations.

    Lumiére Opens in Century City

    Lumiére, the French inspired brasserie adjacent to the Fairmont Century Plaza, is now open.  The menu features old school French dishes incorporating local ingredients for a fresh twist.

    Soft Spirits Non-Alcoholic Bottle Shop Opens in Hollywood

    Soft Spirits, LA’s first nonalcoholic bottle shop, is opening October 10 on Sunset and will include a variety of liquor free libations.

    Dalmore Whisky Launches The Dalmore Decades 5 Piece Collection

    Dalmore Whisky has launched a special collection of five whiskies spanning five decades, with a $275,000 value. One set is available in the U.S. including whisky from 1967, 1979, 1980, 1995 and 2000. Available at Wally’s Wine & Spirits.

    Celebrate Taco Day

    El Pollo Loco is celebrating Taco Day, October 4,  by bringing its Crunchy Taco back as its first digital only menu item. The Crunchy Taco will be available to purchase for a limited time through the El Pollo Loco app and website beginning October 4 through November 1. Members of Del Taco’s Del Yeah! Rewards program can get special deals, meals and prices through October 4. Trejo’s Tacos in Hollywood will offer a chance to win a $50 gift card by visiting one of the Trejo’s taquerias in Hollywood or at the Farmer’s Market.  On Monday, October 4, McCormick is coming to LA to celebrate National Taco Day by providing free tacos to everyone and revealing their new Director of Taco Relations. Their taco truck will be parked at 1323 Abbot Kinney Boulevard beginning at noon handing out free tacos while supplies last.

    Alisal Guest Ranch and resort Hosts CowGirl Edition BBQ Bootcamp

    The Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort in Santa Ynez Valley is hosting a Cowgirl Edition of their BBQ Bootcamp from October 10 – 12.  Award-winning women chefs including Valerie Gordon and Elizabeth Falkner will provide cookouts, culinary seminars, tastings and demonstrations.     Thistle Launches Shots for Shots Program
