The West Hollywood Business License Commission voted unanimously to grant Where Eagles Fly, LLC a Cannabis Business License for a Consumption Area (Edibles), for the business known as Fantom Flower at 8811 Santa Monica Boulevard (former home to the now shuttered Flaming Saddles Saloon). It also approved the application by Valkyrie Retail, LLC for a Cannabis Business Consumption Area (Smoking, Vaping, Edibles), for the business known as Villa Noble West Hollywood to be located at 8001 Santa Monica Boulevard, Unit A, on the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Laurel Avenue, across the street from the French Market Building.
It was a real love fest at the West Hollywood Business license Commission meeting last night. Both applicants received nothing but positive feedback and remarks from both public comment and the commission.
Staff reviewed Fantom Flower Business License application and its supporting documentation for compliance with WHMC and State regulations. City Council upheld staff’s determination of the revised cannabis buffer map and it determined that the subject location is not located within 600-foot of a sensitive use. For this reason, staff assessed that the issuance of this license is consistent with the City’s Municipal Code and recommended that the West Hollywood Business License Commission find that the applicant has satisfied the application requirements and approve the issuance of the Cannabis Business License with the conditions included in Resolution No. BLC21-0009.
Fantom Flower is anticipated to open on July 4, 2022. Construction can begin in a few weeks.
The love was the same for Villa Noble, which also received a recommendation by City Staff for approval. The modern Mediterranean facade will offer nearly 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space “inclusive of an expansive all-day cannabis consumption lounge, a 3-meal per day cannabis retail cafe, a VIP library, a state-of-the-art recording studio, and a myriad of amenities that create an elevated cultural experience.”
According to their Cannabis Consumption Area Business License Application, “Villa Noble promises to contribute to the high-volume growth and development in this upscale, walkable neighborhood, alongside other hospitality and retail projects like the Faring owned French Marketplace being constructed next door. The property is properly zoned for cannabis use and has received its conditional Zone Clearance from the City of West Hollywood.”
They have a long way to go to completion and anticipate opening in 2024.

Yay, more pot. Pretty soon residents of the City Of West Hollywood will have to either shop in Hollywood or Beverly Hills for anything else but pot and booze.
