The only Fantastic Sams Hair Salon located within the city boundaries of West Hollywood has closed after 23 years. Manager/Co-Owner Matthew Lavi tells WEHO TIMES the location at 466 N Doheny Drive has been family owned since 1998 and they will continue to keep it in the family as they set on a new venture with a new salon called The Salon on Doheny, set to open at the same location in the West Hollywood, Beverly Hills area this month.
“We have served residents for over 20 years right here at 466 N Doheny Drive,” said Lavi. “This has been and continues to be a family owned business. My father and his family started the business here, and we have been working hard and happily since. We opened in 1998 and have seen community members and have been honored to make them feel happy and beautiful. We are also the best kept secret and go-to place for some celebs…shhhhhh.”
Lavi says Fantastic Sams may be gone, but The Salon on Doheny will still serve everyone again, including children. There will also now offer a nail salon service in-house.
“We will be back starting March 21, 2022, better and newer,” he said. “We just needed a makeover ourselves, in true LA fashion. The Salon On Doheny will be the newest and hottest hair, nail, and beauty salon in the area. Right on the border of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. We are the go-to beauty salon for everyone no matter their needs–kids cut, blow dry, full on color makeover. We are so excited to welcome back all the residents and past clients from Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. We know they’ve missed us while we were closed for 4 weeks.
The Fantastic Sams West Hollywood was known for offering a full service hair salon at an affordable price. We say goodbye to the Hair Salon chain and welcome the The Salon on Doheny as they get reacquainted with the neighborhood.
The Supercuts Ramada in West Hollywood closed in August of 2020, and the space remains empty with a for lease sign at the door.
