DTown Pizzeria is Now Open at New Location in West Hollywood

DTown Pizzeria is Back in the City of West Hollywood! The new location opened on Friday, December 29, after closing in the city’s east side earlier this year. The newly relocated pizzeria moved to WeHo’s Mid-City at 8424-D Santa Monica Boulevard–the former home of Big Mamas & Papas Pizzeria which closed this past September.

Dtown Pizzeria was located inside Phorage WeHo, 7326 Santa Monica Blvd for roughly three years. Their last day open in WeHo was April 6. Owner Ryan Ososky said Dtown had outgrown the space inside a Vietnamese soup kitchen and was on the lookout for something bigger. Then Big Mamas & Papas opened in WeHo.

Dtown’s owner and chef, Ryan Ososky, told WEHO TIMES, that the hoped to open as soon as later this month before the year ended. “But don’t quote me on it,” he said, We never know what’s going to happen, but we’re ready to open soon.”

It looks like his power of intention allowed him to open with a matter of weeks after first announcing that they were opening at this new space.”

“We’re happy to be back in town and we’re looking forward to bringing some great world champion Detroit style pizza back to West Hollywood,” he said earlier this month. “We started on Sunset Boulevard back in 2020. We live close by so we like being a part of the community and we’re really excited to bring our pizzas back to the city.”

Ososky says the new space is three times the size of their previous space. He hopes to be open real soon, but could not give a date or time frame at this moment.

Dtown Pizzeria began posting about pop-ups in West Hollywood as early as 2017. One of those pop-ups was inside Phorage WeHo, which became its permanent home in 2020 during the COVID pandemic before it closed in April.

Dtown is known for its Detroit-style deep-crust square pies with a lot of heart, thanks to chef Ryan Ososky’s Michigan roots. The chef uses premium ingredients for super-unique pies, including the Cornhole (summer corn, bacon jam, & pickled jalapenos) and the coyly spot-on Life Is Truff 2020 (black truffle, goat cheese, mushrooms, pickled onions, & thyme).

I hope these people do well but I am absolutely heart broken that Sweet Lady Jane has closed its doors for good. Between high rents and high labor costs they can no longer afford to operate without substantially increasing their prices. They decided to just close all their locations. What a horrible loss to the community. It was a real treasure.

Employees have already come out to say that is complete BULLSHIT. They were literally just remodeling 2 of their locations 2 weeks ago and expanding to Larchmont with a brand new store. Something else happened and they didn’t even give their employees a heads up before posting yesterday. What a horrible way to end-not even letting your employees know they’re losing their jobs before thousands of people find out on Instagram. Why would they have spent hundreds of thousands on remodeling their locations over the past month if high rents and labor costs are to blame? It’s a complete cop… Read more »

Did pickles give you the inside scoop? In their 30+ years they have employed hundreds and hundreds of people in and around West Hollywood. How many jobs have you provided to people in WEHO and LA? I’m sure the answer is ZERO. You losers know nothing about why this business closed and yet you come on here and trash them. For 30+ years they have been providing jobs to people and training great pastry chefs. I happen to order desserts from them on December 31st to bring to a New Year’s eve party and they didn’t tell me either that… Read more »

    Their pizza is so good!

A little pricey but the crust is amazing. Something different than any other pizza place nearby.

Yep! A piece of pizza should not be more than $1.50 and a drink should not be more than a dollar and a salad should be at the most three dollars because that’s how much it is at Andre’s on third and the bounty over there and Wilshire

You are what’s wrong with society. Chargebacks affect these small business. If you purchase a product from a small vendor, you should pay for their product and service. What are you using the refunds for? STD meds?
