Drag March LA saw more than 2,000 individuals take to the streets of West Hollywood to protest the increasing amount of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation being passed across the country. Over 40 LGBTQ+ organizations, faith groups, queer and trans activists, drag queen artists, and numerous supporters spanning all age groups came together at West Hollywood Park by Robertson Boulevard for speeches, performances, and presentations, culminating in a march along Santa Monica Boulevard.
Among the speakers was Jazzmun Nichcala Crayton, a trans activist and entertainer. She read a poem from the stage titled “Drag Queen”:

We can’t unsee what has already been seen.
We cannot unknow what we already know.
And we will not stop dancing and lip syncing to our favorite songs.

I was invited here today to speak truth to your power. You are necessary, beautiful, inspiring and adored.
I am advocating today for the respect and appreciation that the art of illusion so rightfully deserves.
I am desiring radical change and curiosity in the hearts and minds of folks who don’t believe in Drag Queen Magic.
I am here to remind you to stay committed to practicing non-judgment, compassion, service, authenticity and kindness, ALL with the intention of blessing the world through your loving demonstration. This was told to me by the Inspire Spiritual Community.
