The Los Angeles LGBT Center will host Drag March LA on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023. The event for all ages and aims to mobilize against the oppressive anti-LGBTQ+ tidal wave that is currently sweeping through America. The march will start at West Hollywood Park with programing and a march to West Hollywood City Hall and back.
The LA LGBT Center reports that there are already over 400 pieces of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation on the books—unsurprisingly, most of them target transgender people.
“Drag has always been political and gender has always been policed. LGBTQ+ people have always known (and shown) that there are many shades of the rainbow—and once again, it’s time for us to put them all on full display,” reads a statement. “We will not stand by while the far right seeks to roll back our rights.”
The event is in partnership with local LGBTQ+ organizations, faith groups, queer and trans activists, and the finest drag artists in the City of Angels.

I can’t see why my late nephew & my brother can’t choose who they want to be and love. I’m 75. I’ve not chosen a life companion. It would take lots of nerve for me to choose for someone else. We indigenous have two-spirit-people, etc. Some of them are better understood by their grandparents, under the old ways, than their parents. People should be left alone to be whoever they decide who they are…and be supported by the rest of us!
Disrespectful and divisive to hold on Easter Sunday.
You can’t be serious. Churches are actually participating.
This event should be cancelled out of respect for the 9 year old victims at the hands of a trans woman. This rally will just continue to cause division and raise issues with on going drag and trans shows in front of school age children.
I’m sorry but I disagree. The crime was committed by a mentally ill person. We don’t cancel events because a straight male caused a crime ♀️
Guns are the problem, Mateo, not the trans community. This event is being held in part to inform people about the trans community and advance its cause. You should attend and learn something.
