DAY FOUR – Fans Continue to Wait for Hours for Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney’s Something About Her Sandwiches

It was Saturday, May 25, 2024, and it was day four since Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney’s “Something About Her” sandwich shop opened in the City of West Hollywood at 649 N Robertson Boulevard. The lines and the wait times appear to be getting longer as mostly female fans flock to try the gourmet sandwiches and wait for over two-and-a-half hours, hoping to meet the stars of the reality TV show Vanderpump Rules.

At 1:30 p.m., two fans near the front of the line said they had been standing there since 11:30 a.m. The line snaked past four businesses on Robertson Blvd. It was reportedly longer earlier that morning.

According to an employee, Madix and Maloney have been working at the new shop for the entire shift since they opened. Both women were seen clearing tables, checking in guests, and working behind the register.

“We are so grateful for the turnout today and all the support,” Madix told WEHO TIMES on opening day. “Someone took a video earlier of all the people waiting in line, and it’s been like that all day. We didn’t think it would draw so many people. It’s been amazing.”

“It took us a while to open, but it is so worth it,” added Maloney. “And with this being Memorial Day weekend, it will probably be like this for the next few days. Then we have WeHo Pride coming as well. We are so grateful for the turnout and for all the support.”

The Vanderpump Rules stars have been trying to open their gourmet sandwich shop in West Hollywood since they first filed for the LLC in July 2021. They moved into the location in late May of 2023 and announced their arrival with a new sign, a new awning, and a fresh coat of paint on the exterior, suggesting the sandwich shop was ready for its reality TV close-up that summer. However, the exterior of the store was ripped out in late July to make room for something different and unexpected. They also didn’t anticipate the setbacks due to permits and inspections from the City of West Hollywood and the Los Angeles Department of Health.

“Something About Her” is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

I am sure the owners of Something About Her made all the efforts to make their sandwiches the best they can be,but waiting two hours for the food seems crazy and excessive. The popularity will wear off after awhile,so I hope the owners will keep the quality consistent. There is a small sandwich shop in Palm Springs called The Sandwich Spot that has been a local favorite for some years now. They had to move to a new location because of rent issues a couple of years ago,but their customers followed them and they are more successful than ever. Time will tell… Read more »
