    David Cooley is Selling His Hancock Park Home to Tune of $7.7 Million

    David Cooley, the founder and owner of The Abbey Food & Bar and The Chapel Weho is selling his home located in L.A.’s historic Hancock Park neighborhood for nearly $7.7 million. Cooley purchased the brick structure designed by architect Henry F Withey for $1.9 million in 2001. The home is widely known for hosting several fundraisers throughout the past four decades.

    The home was built in 1923 according to listing sites. It is described as a stunning Spanish-style home located in the prestigious Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. This updated and spacious home boasts 4 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, and approximately 5,575 sq ft of living space. There is separate guest house offering a bedroom and bath on its top floor, plus a wet bar-equipped speakeasy on the lower-level with a living room a fireplace.

    Dirt reports that the property was formerly occupied by model-turned-actress Katherine MacDonald — known as the “American Beauty” of silent films — and it was also a short-term outpost of “I Love Lucy” star Vivian Vance.

    According to Dirt, David Cooley also owns a midcentury ranch-style house overlooking Malibu’s Las Tunas Beach that he purchased from actress Emma Stone last summer for $4.4 million.
