Crumbl Cookies Opens at West Hollywood Gateway

Crumbl Cookies had their grand opening at the West Hollywood Gateway, 7100 Santa Monica Blvd, Unit 117B (in the space formerly home to Game Stop for many years). To celebrate the grand opening on Friday, May 17th, they gave away free chocolate chip cookies the entire day along with a giveaway for three lucky winners who walked away with a 4-pack box of cookies.

Prior to their opening, the new bakery hosted a VIP event on Wednesday. WEHO TIMES got a behind-the-scenes look at how cookies are made. Guests included West Hollywood Mayor John Erickson, who dropped by to try the delicious cookies.

Franchise owner Luke Paustenbaugh was on hand with his family. In the Q&A below, he chatted about the big opening and what we all can expect from West Hollywood’s newest tasty business.

Q&A with Franchise Owner Luke Paustenbaugh

How excited are you about opening in West Hollywood?

I couldn’t be more excited. It’s the perfect time. I’m excited to be part of the community and the neighborhood, bringing the best cookie to West Hollywood. Trusting the process when and where to bring the best cookie in the world to the neighborhood is key.

And what is the best-selling cookie?

It’s usually a debate, but it’s either the milk chocolate chip or the semi-sweet chocolate chip.

What is your personal favorite cookie?

Usually, I’m a peanut butter fanatic when it comes to cookies.

What about your kids? What’s their favorite Crumbl cookie?

My daughter goes to town on the sea salt toffee cookie. My little guy hasn’t experienced much because he’s only 15 months old, so he enjoys anything he can get his hands on. My wife really enjoys the classic pink sugar cookie, which is kind of the original. That one put Crumbl on the map.

How many cookies are on your menu?

Per week, we’re going to offer a variety of about five different cookies. Each of those cookies comes in mini versions as well as the regular size. We will also be offering specialty desserts such as full and half-sheet cakes. We’re bringing family-style desserts too, providing a variety of different choices.

Do the varieties change every week?

Oh yeah, they change weekly, so look out for them on the Crumbl Cookie app. Every Sunday, they drop and showcase our weekly new flavors, so check the app on Sunday night. Our location is closed on Sunday, so our store opens Mondays at 8 a.m. through 10 p.m. from Monday to Thursday. Then on Friday and Saturday, we are open late, until 12 a.m., and closed on Sunday. So you will have to wait in anticipation for the new flavors.

What type of ingredients do you use?

Everything’s made in-house and from scratch. Nothing comes prepackaged or frozen, so we have all our bakers, mixers, and ballers back there daily baking the cookies fresh. It’s hard work, and we put all our love and the best ingredients into each cookie, and it shows.

Final question, what’s the best part of Crumbl Cookies?

The best part is that Crumbl has about 300 different recipe cookies and well over 200 different cookies. That’s why our menu will always be changing, so drop by every week.

Very excited to finally have Crumbl open in Weho. Seems like it took forever, but it was worth the wait. Decadently delicious cookies and very friendly staff which made me feel welcome and appreciated. Looking forward to going each week to try out what’s new. Yum!

Mmmm I’d consider delivery but not the option of driving into the deep dark hole of a parking nightmare below the store. God forbid I should walk down there lol

Honestly parking at the West Hollywood Gateway isn’t that bad. Just go straight to the bottom level, always tons of open sports right next to the elevators! Don’t even bother looking for spots on that first level, it’s always so busy.
