The City of West Hollywood released an official city statement on the current war in Israel:
The City of West Hollywood joins communities across the nation in unequivocally condemning the horrific attacks against Israel by Hamas. Terrorism can never be tolerated, and we are devastated by the violence in Israel. With a core value of respect and support for people, our city stands in solidarity with Israel and its people. All people deserve to live in a world free of terrorism and violence.
Our thoughts and hearts turn to the families whose loved ones have been killed, and to the countless many more people who are impacted by this violence. Locally, the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station is on high alert, and Sheriff’s Deputies are conducting patrol checks of Jewish community locations and citywide patrols to ensure community safety.
“I condemn the attacks by Hamas and the terror groups from Gaza on Israel and her people,” wrote West Hollywood Mayor Sepi Shyne on her social media platforms, shortly after news broke of the attacks. “The United States stands with the people of Israel as they once again bravely face horrific violence. As someone who has experienced this kind of terror and violence, these actions never lead to peace and my heart goes out to both the Israeli and Palestinian civilians caught in this horrible conflict.
Israel has the right to defend itself and this violence must be universally condemned.”
On Monday in Beverly Hills, thousands of individuals took to the streets to express their solidarity with Israel following a surprise and violent attack by Hamas on Israeli territory over the weekend. In response to this attack, Israeli officials declared war against the militant group.
Although Los Angeles is located at a considerable distance from the State of Israel, numerous Angelenos maintain personal ties to that region. Many have friends and family members directly affected by the ongoing crisis.
As Israel initiates its offensive operations, some of the rally participants revealed that their loved ones in Israel are being called up for reserve duty. Others shared heartbreaking stories with KTLA, disclosing that they had lost dear ones in Saturday’s terrorist attack, which tragically claimed the lives of 900 Israelis. Additionally, it has been reported that approximately 100 people, including Americans, have been abducted and are being held as hostages.
Maybe we should put out an APB on Chelsea Byers! But even if she did finally come out and make a statement, I wouldn’t believe one word that came out of her mouth!
Meanwhile not a word from Chelsea Byers. We should not tolerate support for terrorists from our elected officials.
