For the past two weeks, the City of West Hollywood Parking Enforcers have been leaving warning signs on car windshields informing the public that parking citations are starting up again in WeHo. The City suspended enforcement of various parking regulations citywide back on March 16, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Effective Monday, June 15, 2020, the City’s Parking Services Division began enforcing the previously suspended parking regulations, by leaving yellow warnings letters for specific infractions. As of TODAY, June 29, 2020, regulations will be enforced by citation. Safety violations such as blocking driveways or fire hydrants were not suspended and will continue to be enforced.

Previously suspended parking enforcements included: residential permit parking; street sweeping enforcement; rush-hour parking regulation enforcement (7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.); and moving encroachments. Expired meters, which were cited upon complaint, will resume active enforcement, however, due to an increase in working at home, residents with valid resident or guest parking permits will be allowed to park at nearby parking meters during street sweeping. Vehicles must have a permit displayed and may park up to 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after the posted hours for street sweeping at the address where the permit is registered. The ability of permit holders to park at meters for street sweeping will be in effect until Monday, August 31, 2020.
Citations issued on or after Monday, June 29, 2020 will return to the regular penalty schedule; motorists will have 21 days to contest or appeal before the citation becomes delinquent.

The City of West Hollywood has declared a local emergency in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. While Los Angeles County is allowing for a phased reopening of some businesses and activities, coronavirus transmission and COVID-19 disease remain a serious risk.
The City urges everyone to stay in place, maintain your space, and cover your face. West Hollywood residents are encouraged to remain home as much as is practical and limit close contact with others outside of a household; always use social (physical) distancing of at least six feet; and follow City requirements for the use of face coverings in public.
Public Health officials recommend cloth face coverings so that medical-grade and N95 masks may be prioritized in the supply chain for healthcare workers and first responders. Face coverings are not required for young children under two-years-old; children between two- and eight-years-old should only wear face coverings with adult supervision; and people with certain medical conditions are exempt from this requirement.
Additionally, people 65 years old or older and all people of any age with underlying health conditions should remain at home whenever possible. People in these categories should only leave their residences to seek medical care, exercise, or obtain food or other necessities.
West Hollywood City Hall is currently closed to the public and has suspended all in-person transactions. Most public City buildings, playgrounds, parks, and facilities are closed.
