    City of West Hollywood Hosts Public Safety Awards and Luncheon

    The City of West Hollywood hosted the return of the Public Safety Awards, inviting community members to attend the 2024 Public Safety Awards & Luncheon as the city celebrated and recognized its organizational partners in public safety organizations that had made significant efforts toward enhancing community safety in West Hollywood. The last Public Safety Awards ceremony took place in 2019.

    Residents and community members joined Vice Mayor Chelsea Byers, Council Member Lauren Meister, and members from the West Hollywood Public Safety Commission for lunch with deputies from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station, first responders from Los Angeles County Fire, and West Hollywood Block by Block Security Ambassadors, before the awards ceremony on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. Lunch was served in the Auto Court area outside the West Hollywood’s Council Chambers/Public Meeting Room, followed by the awards presentation inside the chambers.

    This year, the City of West Hollywood presented three recipients with Public Safety Awards. The three entities honored were members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department West Hollywood Station, Los Angeles County Fire Department Stations 7 and 8, and West Hollywood Block by Block Security Ambassadors.

    Honories from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station were:

    • DEPUTY OF THE YEAR – Training Officer Hrant Bairamian
    • DETECTIVE OF THE YEAR -Detective David Cusiter
    • CRIME IMPACT TEAM OF THE YEAR – Deputy Alex Kanouse
    • CIVILIAN OF THE YEAR – Law Enforcement Technician Maricela Ballentine
    • VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR – Volunteer Dimitri Kermani

    Honorees from the Los Angeles County Fire Department were:

    • Fire Stations 7 & 8

    Honorees from the Block by Block Security Ambassadors were:

    • Security Ambassador Radovan Nastic
    • Security Ambassador Juan Juarez
    • Security Ambassador Block Brian Patel

    The award recipients have made extraordinary efforts in public safety programs and events, strengthened community partnerships, and demonstrated leadership.

    The Public Safety Division provides oversight of law enforcement and coordinates community programs to reduce crime and increase public safety and the quality of life for citizens, businesses, and visitors to West Hollywood.

    Wait, these are the same deputies who are stationed RIGHT AT THE CROSSWALK WHERE ALL THE PICKPOCKETING IS GOING ON? And they got an award?

    Thank you for having the courage to stand up to LASD corruption, just like you stood up to and exposed the very dangerous cult Scientology. Your work has helped save a great many lives, and it should have been you receiving an award like this ❗
