Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) lists Bob’s Garage Bar, LLC as the new primary owner of the bar. The bar’s name is also going back to its previous name which is simply Revolver (dropping the Video Bar from its business title) according to the ABC listing.
Revolver Video Bar reopened on October 26, 2011, after closing in 2004. A new bar called East/West Lounge opened at the space in 2005, but it only lasted until 2011. Chris Miller brought back Revolver Video Bar with Alfredo Diaz in an effort to preserve the bar’s history. Miller bought out Diaz after several disputes, which include Miller’s accusation that Diaz was embezzling money.
Revolver first opened in 1982. It took its name from its famous revolving door and made a name for itself for its large video screens above the bar that featured music videos, campy video collages, and the bar hosted a series of viewing parties for popular TV shows.
Fond memories when this space was The Blue Parrot and then the first Revolver Bar. Of course, I was a lot younger back then.
I could not concentrate on my work if all my co workers were such gorgeous shirtless gay bartenders! FUN FACT: the bar’s namesake revolving door is a hilarious challenge to drunk folks. It causes them to walk into the wall, fall down, or get stuck with too many people in it at once. The doormen tell hilarious stories.
Best of luck to the new owners!
Good Luck Danny and Richard!!
