Car Crash on La Cienega Blvd and Fountain Ave Causes Traffic Jam

A two-car collision at the intersection of La Cienega Boulevard and Fountain Avenue Wednesday night caused traffic congestion. Around 5:45 p.m., a Volkswagen and a Honda collided as the VW made a left turn from Fountain Avenue to La Cienega Boulevard heading south. Deputies from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station were on the scene to direct traffic.

The collision shut down the southbound lane on La Cienega. The Honda was mobile and able to clear the way, but the VW was inoperable and blocked the southbound lane until a tow truck arrived for assistance. No injuries were reported.

The collision prompted a discussion about public safety on Fountain Avenue in the comments of the WEHO TIMES Instagram account @weho_times. Several community members noted that accidents are common in that area, while others expressed disapproval of the planned changes to Fountain Avenue, including the potential addition of bike lanes.
