The Artist Tree Dispensary & Weed Delivery in West Hollywood, located at 8625 Santa Monica Boulevard, is in the process of adding a cannabis consumption lounge (edibles) with ancillary smoking and vaping area.
According to their website the 3,729 square foot Cannabis Smoking and Edible Lounge will offer a premium selection of products and table-side service set in a performance space. There will be multiple non-smoking areas for edible consumption alongside non-infused food and drink options. There is a promise for live entertained with nightly performances and daily classes and other events. There is also talks of a private tasting room that would allow a buyer to taste a product, in micro doses, prior to purchase.
An employee tells WEHO TIMES that the lounge was supposed to done in September (their website still states it is coming in the fall of 2021), but delays have pushed the opening date to December, with a target to be open before the year ends. Construction is currently underway on the second floor, at the former home of Body by Simone dance studio, which closed due to COVID and never opened in West Hollywood, but continues operate studios in Brentwood and in New York.
The entrance will be on the side of the building to the right if facing the building and there will be a patio area consumption, vaping and smoking.
The West Hollywood Business License Commission conduct a public hearing on April 6, 2021 to adopt Resolution No. BLC21- 0005, for the application by The Artist Tree LLC, for Cannabis Business Consumption Area (Edibles) and add onsite smoking to the cannabis consumption business license (edibles). The Business License Commission approved the request and voted to add the smoking and ingestion element to the applicant’s business license at the meeting.
A presentation at the meeting by the applicants , Aviv Halimi, Lauren Fontein, provided information regarding the HVAC system for oder control, and a presentation of the business layout, business plans, and safety. Halimi explained that security and staff have been trained to identify when a rideshare is required and to direct customers to be picked up on Westbourne Drive.
according to eTrack in the permits.weho.org, the application for a commercial tenant improvement permit was made on February, 25, 2021, it was approved on May 17, 2021 and issued on June 9, 2021.
The Artist Tree was founded by Lauren Fontein, Avi Kahan, Mitchell Kahan and Aviv Halimi. Their mission is to provide safe access to legal cannabis, raise awareness of the health benefits of cannabis, showcase artists from the community and break stereotypes surrounding cannabis sales and consumption.
