    A new pop-up is coming to the City of West Hollywood at 8505 Santa Monica Blvd. Fans of BTS and the Minions can unite for an unforgettable interactive experience ahead of the release of Illumination’s “Despicable Me 4.” The BTS & DM4 Pop-up Experience, open from June 21 to July 3, offers a chance to explore set recreations inspired by BTS ARMY member the new villainous character Poppy Prescott – and her Tree House in Illumination’s Despicable Me 4.

    Visitors can capture unforgettable moments with themed photo opportunities featuring BTS x Minions mash-up art, and browse exclusive BTS x Minions merchandise in a fully themed retail environment.

    The BTS ARMY is the official fandom name for the K-pop band BTS. The name was established in 2013, shortly after the release of the band’s first single, “2 Cool 4 Skool”. ARMY is an acronym for “Adorable Representative MC For Youth”, but it can also stand for “the military” or “BTS’ full name”, “Bangtan Sonyeondan”, which translates to “Bulletproof Boyscouts” in English.

    The BTS ARMY is known for being dedicated, organized, and diverse. Fans of different genders, ethnicities, and ages can often be found at BTS concerts and fan meetups. The ARMY has been involved in many initiatives, including:
    • The Love Myself campaign with UNICEF, which focuses on anti-violence
    • Donating money on band members’ birthdays
    • Collaborating with nonprofit organizations around the world through OIAA 
    The US BTS ARMY is the first fanbase in the United States to solely represent BTS fans. It was established on April 28, 2014 as the BTS West Coast ARMY, and changed its name in 2015. In February 2019, it became a non-profit organization in California, and its mission is to inspire, celebrate, and spread BTS’ message of love and acceptance. The US BTS ARMY is not affiliated with BTS, Big Hit Music, or HYBE Corp.
