The West Hollywood Planning Commission approved to allow Barry’s Bootcamp WeHo to move to the former Aaron Brothers framing and art supplies space, located at 8380 Santa Monica Boulevard during a teleconference meeting held on Thursday, March 18, 2021. It’s been pretty much quiet at that site since then—that is until recently. Signage on the storefront shows the health and fitness studio still plans to move to the new location with colorful signage announcing, “The Next Era of WeHo – New Studio – Same Zip Code.”
There is also a QR Code at the door which takes you to a site stating “the Best Workout in the World is opening a new location at 8383 Santa Monica Blvd…” People can sign up to get special access to special events, referral perks, VIP opening details and more.

Barry’s has been at its current location at 1106 N. La Cienega Blvd., for the past 25 years. It first opened its doors in 1998.
Barry’s new home is a 20,866-square-foot parcel with a 70-foot frontage on the west wide of Kings Road and 162-foot frontage facing the north side of Santa Monica Boulevard, at the northeast corner of Santa Monica Boulevard in between Kings Road and Flores Street. The property is owned by the City of West Hollywood and is developed with a ground commercial space of 7,980 square feet and a three-story public parking structure constructed in 1995. The public parking structure contains 165 parking spaces with the entrance/exit on Kings Road. The proposed health/fitness facility will occupy the ground floor tenant space previously occupied by Aaron Brothers framing and art supplies store, with the main entrance fronting Santa Monica Boulevard. The proposed change of use would not alter the size or massing of the existing building and will only consist of interior remodeling with no plans for façade improvements.

Barry’s currently has over 90 locations worldwide including the first location at 1106 La Cienega in West Hollywood. The proposed project includes a “fuel bar” in the center of the 7,980 square-foot floor plan that would sell packaged foods and drinks, and a small retail area adjacent to the lobby. The proposal also features two locker rooms with showers and two large main workout areas.
The health/fitness facility focuses on instructor-led, class setting workouts with each class averaging 50-60 minutes. All activities will occur within the tenant space.
A opening date is still pending.

I live by the current location and it has been miserable. There’s no consideration for the residential properties. This new location seems like a much better fit.
Wait, how so? Hasn’t it been there for over 25 years? It’s just in a commercial strip mall
Great
Wow I thought this was dead in the water after hearing about it years ago.
Thanks for the update!
