Attendees will Get a Free Art Print by Artist Sküt at Installation Ceremony of WeHo Mayor and Vice Mayor

The City of West Hollywood annual city council reorganization and installation meeting and oath of office ceremony will swear in John M. Erickson next Mayor and Chelsea Lee Byers the next Vice Mayor on Tuesday, January 16, 2023. As a gift to celebrate, artist Sküt (Scott Lewallen) will give everyone in attendance a free 4×6 art print of “Soaring Joy” a work of art he created for the occasion.

“Incoming 2024 WeHo City Mayor John M. Erickson asked me to create original art for his and incoming Vice Mayor Chelsea Lee Byers’ installation ceremony,” Sküt posted on his Instagram account. “John is a champion of the arts, so of course I said yes. I call this design ‘Soaring Joy’ and I hope it makes you smile as we usher in a new era of leadership in this magical little Weho creative city.”

“I’m gonna bring some 4×6” mini art prints to gift to everyone in attendance at the Jan 16 ceremony,” he told WEHO TIMES. “Here’s to bringing more happiness and joy to everyone in weho in 2024.”

Sküt says the art work is a sparkling pop-inspired winged heart. “This beacon of community adorns effervescent pillars of brilliant color, symbolizing the seven Core Values of the City of West Hollywood, as we soar into 2024.”

The meeting and ceremony will take place on Tuesday, January 16, 2023 at 6 p.m. at the City’s Council Chambers/Public Meeting Room, located at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard. A reception will immediately follow at the adjacent West Hollywood Library on the second floor. The meeting, ceremony, and reception are free and open to the public. Limited validated parking will be available at the West Hollywood Park five-story structure.

The meeting and ceremony will be live-broadcast and streamed as part of the regular City Council meeting and will be available by tuning into Channel 10 on Spectrum within West Hollywood, by visiting the City of West Hollywood’s website at www.weho.org/wehotv, or by visiting the City’s WeHoTV YouTube Channel at www.youtube.com/wehotv. In addition, City Council meetings can also be viewed on Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, and Roku streaming platforms by searching “WeHoTV” within the search functions of these services.

All I know is my ring camera alert goes off constantly about different crimes being committed around WEHO. These 2 voted to defund the sheriff in the middle of a crime spree. I don’t call that smart or effective leadership.

It’s no wonder they have to give out incentives for people to show up to this latest installation of mayor and vice mayor.

The artwork is as unappealing as the new mayor, but at least the artwork isn’t guilty of being an unethical, immoral grifter.
