Another Car Crash Reported on Fountain Ave in West Hollywood

Another car crash was reported on Fountain Avenue, this time at the Gardner Avenue intersection. The vehicle collision occurred on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at roughly 12:30 p.m. A white Hyundai crashed into a black Tesla. The Hyundai was totaled. According to a source, one person was injured and required medical attention from first responders, but injuries were not life threatening.

The eastbound lane experienced slow traffic flow. The car was stalled at the left turning lane, which gave some room to cars to pass. West Hollywood Sheriff Deputies were on the scene to direct traffic while the damaged vehicle waited for a tow truck.

Two car accidents were reported in the same week at the same intersection of Fountain Avenue and La Cienega Boulevard, in late January and early February. Both collisions caused lane closures and created traffic jams between Santa Monica Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard. No injuries were reported in both incidents.

    Stupid people doing stupid things.

Where are the safety improvements that WeHo proposed for this corridor? It seems like someone at City Hall is slow walking street improvements because a small minority of people complain. The thing that people miss when they focus on “bike lanes” is that the proposed improvements make everyone who uses the corridor safer. Pedestrians, Cyclist and yes, even Drivers are safer.

Instead we have the status quo which causes injuries to our community members like the Hyundai driver here.
