The Amazon pop-up store in West Hollywood at 8551 Melrose Avenue is following up their House of Horrors pop-up for Halloween with something fun for the kids and the kids at heart. Amazon is skipping Thanksgiving and getting right into holiday shopping with an Amazon holiday toy store pop-up on the corner of Melrose Avenue and Westmount Drive.
The store opened at the beginning of this month on November 2nd, and will run through November 22nd. It includes more than 100 toys from Disney, Hasbro, LEGO and Osmo. It features some of the most anticipated items this season such as the FurReal Gogo My Dancin’ Pup and LEGO Monkie Kid: Monkey King Warrior Mech.
There are also some classic toys like Tickle Me Elmo, Hungry, Hungry Hippos, Transformers and vintage games like Twister.
With Toys R Us stores long gone making toy stores scares, the Amazon Holiday toy store pop-up offers customers a chance browse in person and to interact (or play) with unboxed toys throughout the store before making a purchase, or placing an order online.
“With the labor shortage holding up merchandise, this pop-up will items things available to customers that may be hard to find as we closer to the holiday,” said an employee at the store, referring to the congestion at the ports that is leading to limited product availability. “We don’t even have all the merchandise out. There will be a lot to offer from Disney, Hasbro, LEGO and Osmo. Those are main brands that we will carry.”
And in true Amazon fashion, each item has a QR code that lets customers read reviews or order it online through the Amazon app. Most of the toys for sale are featured in Amazon’s “Ready, Set, Play” 2021 holiday catalog.
The West Hollywood and Glendale Galleria are part of five other Amazon holiday toy store pop-up locations across the country. They include Chicago, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas and Seattle.
