    Actor Woody Harrelson Opens The Woods Dispensary in West Hollywood

    “Hopefully we’ll make West Hollywood citizens a little bit higher,” said actor and activist Woody Harrelson during a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the grand opening of The Woods WeHo retail cannabis dispensary on Friday, May 13, 2022. West Hollywood Mayor Lauren Meister and council member Lindsey Horvath joined the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in welcoming the new dispensary located at to 8271 Santa Monica Boulevard (located right across the street from the WeHo Chamber).

    “We are so excited to have The Woods open,” said West Hollywood Chamber CEO, Genevieve Morrill. “It’s an amazing design and Thomas Schoos has been an amazing asset to the city for so long in West Hollywood. It’s a perfect venue.”

    Mayor Meister presented The Woods with a Certificate of Recognition acknowledging their grand opening and welcoming the business to the West Hollywood community on behalf of the West Hollywood City Council.

    Keith Kaplan, Immediate Past Chair of the WeHo Chamber also presented Woody Harrelson with a framed one dollar bill for good luck, a WeHo Chamber tradition.

    “What an honor and a privilege it is to be here in West Hollywood with all of you,” said Harrelson at the grand opening. “It means so much for us to be part of this community which I always loved…we’re going to do everything we can. Hopefully we added more beauty and more good times here… hopefully we’ll make West Hollywood citizens a little bit higher. Thank you… this is the greatest day that I’ve had in a long time and it is an honor and a privilege to be here.”

    The Woods WeHo was founded by ERBA co-founders Devon Wheeler and Jay Handal, actor/activist Woody Harrelson, political commentator Bill Maher, interior designer and creative director, Thomas Schoos, Designer & Partner, Lisa Gill and Michael Berman – CEO & Partner (IG handle: @schoos_design). The new craft cannabis and lush consumption lounge on Santa Monica Boulevard will serve premium organic, sun-grown, California herb. Situated between high-end eateries and shopping centers, The Woods Weho showcases an environmentally elegant and Zen-focused design with hand hewn reclaimed wood fixtures from Montana. The garden and consumption lounge aims to transport guests to a tranquil oasis in the heart of West Hollywood.

    They say too many pot places in WeHo, but a lot more are coming. You have the one by Crescent Heights, the one at Flaming Saddles, the one by the Pleasure Chest and some on Sunset Blvd.

    Really wish they didn’t look so damn star struck. Just look at Horvath’s face. A real embarrassment.
