AALA Roundup is Coming to West Hollywood for the First Time

AALA, Southern California’s LGBTQIA+ Alcoholics Anonymous Convention, is coming to the City of West Hollywood for the first time this weekend at the Pacific Design Center and the West Hollywood Aquatics and Recreation Center starting today, Friday, May 26, 2023, through Sunday, May 28, 2023. The 3-Day event is celebrating LGBTQIA+ Sobriety on Memorial Day Weekend.

The event has taken place in Burbank and at Downtown Los Angeles in previous years. This year’s roundup promises an unforgettable experience in West Hollywood, where the convention is embracing the theme of “Rule 62: Don’t take yourself too damn seriously.” It will be a celebration of recovery, friendship, and self-discovery, where attendees can get inspired, have fun, and connect with others in a welcoming and inclusive space.

The iconic Pacific Design Center and the new West Hollywood ARC Complex at West Hollywood Park, will set the stage for a weekend of powerful speaker meetings, thought-provoking workshops, and inspiring keynote speakers in the state-of-the-art Silver Screen Theater at the Pacific Design Center.

But that’s just the beginning… with the theme of “Don’t take yourself too damn seriously” in mind, the AALA Roundup committee has planned a range of fun and engaging peer-led activities, including games, yoga sessions, and a first-ever rooftop party at the Pacific Design Center, where attendees can take in the breathtaking views of the Los Angeles skyline and dance the night away with their fellows.

This year’s celebration also brings back the legendary AALA Musical and Miss AALA Drag Show, where the community’s most talented performers will take the stage to entertain and inspire. This year’s theme encourages everyone to let go of inhibitions and embrace the joy and humor that comes with recovery.

Whether you’re a first-time attendee or a returning member, the AALA Roundup is the perfect opportunity to connect with others who share your experiences, and support each other in our journeys towards a fulfilling sober life. So don’t take yourself too damn seriously, and join this a weekend of laughter, connection, and inspiration. Register now and let the magic begin!
