    $5K E-Bike Stolen in Broad Daylight in the City of West Hollywood

    Another bike theft has been reported in the City of West Hollywood, this time taking place in broad daylight in front of Delprado Signs, specializing in neon signs, at 7868 Santa Monica Blvd. An E-Rid Pro Electric Dirt Bike, worth roughly $5,000, was stolen while the owner was at work two doors east at T&Y Bakery at 5313, 7862 Santa Monica Blvd.

    The theft, captured on video, occurred at 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday near the Santa Monica Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue intersection. One suspect, who, according to a witness, rolled up on a skateboard, is seen bent over the e-bike. Another suspect stopped by on a bike to help the other culprit rip the bike off its lock. They eventually removed the front tire and stole the bike.

They eventually remove the front tire and stole the bike. At one point a pedestrian walks by without noticing anything. The bike belonged to a worker at the Russian bakery next door to the sign shop.     The surveillance video shows, at one point, a pedestrian walking by without noticing anything out of the ordinary.

    The Sheriff’s Department was called, and a report was filed. There is no word yet on any leads.

    On May 24, WeHo Times reported that a Specialized Allez Sport bicycle was brazenly stolen in broad daylight on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood. The incident occurred in front of Barry’s Fitness Studio at 8383 Santa Monica Boulevard at roughly 7:30 a.m.

    Barry’s showed West Hollywood resident Alex Silverman security video footage of a suspect sawing into his lock in front of the gym. Sparks can be seen as the suspect sawed through the lock, after which he rode away with the stolen bike.

    “I get the sense the guy has done this many times,” said Alex. “It was a $150 lock, and he cut through it in about 10 seconds.”

    The cops could put a decoy bike out and catch these thieves all day I’d say ….AND they’d look good as their apprehension numbers would be up. Get on it Cher-iffz!!
