A large crowd gathered in different forms of white dresses for a good cause at the 3rd Annual White Dress Party fundraiser hosted by The Los Angeles Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, with proceeds going to The Life Group LA. The event was held at the White Dress Party’s new home, GYM Sports Bar, located at 8919 Santa Monica Boulevard, on Saturday, from 4pm to 9pm.
The event was free. Wearing a white dress or other forms of white festive attire was strongly encouraged, and boy did the dress up. From tutus, to gowns, to slinky slinky dress, to a suit and tie, to an actual toilet bowl head piece, there was much to see this past three-day President’s Day weekend.

The sisters sold baked goods, jello shots, and lots of raffle tickets for a chance to win a long list of gift items. Prizes included a TV, vacation trips, phone accessories, gift cards, candles and more.
DJ Ryan Jones spun some great retro with a mix of current hits during the event that kept the crowd lively. The gay movie classic “Death Becomes Her” played on all the TV screens for added camp in the evening.

“What an honor to have been chosen by the LA Sisters to benefit from the proceeds of an amazing and successful comeback event. The love and generosity of the attendees was over flowing.” said Sunnie Rose, Executive Director of The Life Group LA.

The Life Group LA is a coalition of people focused on the spiritual, emotional and physical well-being of people living with HIV and those who support them through education, empowerment and emotional support. Their work is to assist people so that they may make informed choices and decisions regarding their healthcare and personal well-being.
Founded in 2005 Life Group LA provides much needed information and emotional support through medical forums, emotional support groups and the POZ Life Weekend Seminar, free of charge. All services are offered in a non-judgmental and safe environment with compassion and understanding.
The Los Angeles Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are out to make people happy, stamp out guilt brought on by a judgmental society and help various organizations and charities. Their goal is to share kindness, love and laughter as a source of personal empowerment and pride. They believe in freedom of expression, teamwork, effort, and diversity. They are a family committed to social activism, social service and spiritual development. The Order strives to strengthen its community through drag activism, by raising much-needed funds for community charities, and by bringing about a better understanding of gay spirituality.
