24-Hour Fitness Super Sport is now open. The gym located at 8612 Santa Monica Boulevard, opened two days earlier than previously announced, which was scheduled for Wednesday, March 17th. The gym is now open 7 days a week from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Workout reservations are no longer required and workout classes are limited for safety reasons.
According to an employee at the front desk, the gym is only allowing 100 people at a time, as is mandated by the Los Angeles Department of Health on the the less restrictive red tier phase. Under the red tier, gyms, fitness centers, yoga and dance studios can open indoors at 10% capacity with masking requirement for all indoor activities.

Reservations are no longer required at the West Hollywood location. When the gym gets filled to capacity, a line will form outside on Santa Monica Boulevard.
The gym was pretty much empty this afternoon and the entire floor was spotless. It is not clear if the low traffic was due to the early opening. It is possible not many members knew it was open today and a line may start to form outside later this week.
The re-opening comes at the cost of some of the free motion machines, which have been removed from the floor to allow a more open space for safe physical distancing. The leg workout area towards the front of the gym (located to the left when entering through the front stairs) has a stack of machines that are have been sealed off with yellow caution tape to ward off public use.

Masks are mandatory. It appeared members were compliant today, however workout towels were not enforced, as several members were seen working out without towels this afternoon.
Some re-opening guidelines for most 24-Hour Fitness gyms are as follows:
- Memberships will reactivate starting March 15 (for those who haven’t already reactivated at our outdoor gyms).
- For monthly payment members, the billing day will stay the same as is indicated in the membership agreement. Members should expect a prorated charge on the next bill date after March 17 for any time leading up to your bill date and for the next month after.
- For those not ready to go back to the gym, they can request a one-month courtesy freeze, by contact 24-Hour Fitness or after reopening day, select “My Membership” and choose “Freeze/Reactivate from freeze” as your topic.
- Outdoor workouts will still be available at the Outdoors@24 locations.
24-Hour Fitness now has a new touch-free club check-in system. They claim to have stringent cleaning and social distancing protocols to support the health and safety of their clubs.
