24 Hour Fitness Super Sport Hollywood, located at 6380 West Sunset Boulevard, reopened today after members were told the gym had closed permanently due to rent disputes with the landlord.
The gym known as the Archlight 24 Hour Fitness (because of its location next to the Arclight Hollywood Theater, which also closed in 2020), went under December 2020, almost a year before the West Hollywood location closed for good on November 30, 2021–a devastating blow to the West Hollywood community members who used both gyms.
“After many years of serving the community, we are sorry to say that we were unable to reach an agreement with our landlord and have had to permanently close our Hollywood club,” explained a notice sent to members who called that gym their home base. “This is not the news we were hoping for, but we remain committed to continuing to serve you with access to any reopened 24 Hour Fitness club near you, including our new Outdoors@24 locations.”
Rumors that the 24 Hour Fitness Super Sport Hollywood was reopening date back to December 2021. The reopening date was said to be scheduled for February or March of this year. We were not able to confirm these rumors at the time, but we did notice the 24-Hour Fitness logo was still up at the building and workout equipment was visible at the space a year after the gym had reportedly closed permanently.
Then there was the announcement that the rumors were true via their social media.
“We’re reopening our Hollywood club with all-new equipment and a fresh, new layout,” reads a Facebook post on April 26. “Be one of the first to give it a workout when we open our doors on April 30. Sneak a peek at what’s in store at http://ms.spr.ly/6187wffQl“
The entire gym is pretty much the same setup. The steam room is still unisex. The basketball court is back, the cardio studio has been revamped, but located in the same space. There seems to be less equipment, but what made it back so far is brand new.
The only difference is the indoor pool is gone. In its place will be an Astroturf workout area, which will make up for the missing equipment upstairs. It is maintaining its Super Sport status, even though most Super Sports offer a pool.

Saturday 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM
